About Esperanza

Learn more about our brand story and the creation of Esperanza.

Dorset is a beautiful place, from its rolling countryside to its sandy shores. It showcases the beautiful environment, yet highlights the damage done by human hands. The inspiration which surrounds us encouraged us to create Esperanza.

Our Brand Story

Esperanza Logo Rethink Regifting

At Esperanza we make sustainable gift wrap designed to be re-gifted.

During the pandemic, we were able to spend more time walking by the sea. It led us to head back to the origins of our creative goals.
We spent the extra time lock-down gifted making Christmas presents for our families. This is where we found real happiness.

Consequently, we realised there was a need for more sustainable solutions to single use items. Just think of all those face masks!
What better gift than making a sustainable gift bag a family tradition. To be passed on, full of eco-friendly gifts, every year.

Sustainable, reusable design. Think Esperanza.

About The Creators

Hello,
We are Abi & Emma.

Abi is in an orange wolly hat and beige jumper, and Emma is in a green hat and brown coat. They are taking a selfie against a background of greenery and sea in the distance. Emma is wearing sunglasses as although wintery, it is bright and sunny. A slight lens flare runs across the image.
We love walking with our dog Tia or constructing a DIY project at home. In addition, we’re passionate about LGBTQ+ rights and campaigning for equality.

Both with a BTEC in Art & Design, but different passions, our range of skills mean we love creative challenges. Emma has a degree in Costume Design from AUB with a special interest in tailoring. Whereas Abi, who has a passion for colour, has a Foundation Degree in Interior Design.

Married in 2019, little did we know how much the world was about to change for everyone. Owning a creative business has always been a dream for us. More recently we have been able to unpick the areas in which we are particularly passionate.

Working together on Esperanza’s goals for 2022 and beyond has been an exciting journey.
As well as the sustainable gift wrap you’ll discover here, you can find out more about Abi’s work here, and Emma’s here.

Esperanza is a Spanish name which means “hope” or “expectation”. For us, it reflects the hope and expectation people have as they discover hidden treasure within lost or abandoned items. There is just something special about finding a gem that has already lived a life. Ready to be loved again.
Actually, it’s pretty handy that the first and last letters are our initials!
