Title: About The Creators

Hi, we are Emma & Abi, creators of Esperanza.

We live in gorgeous Dorset with our Staffie Dachshund cross Tia and tortoise Buddy, enjoying our local beauty spots by day on walkies with Tia, and crafting in the evenings – something we have more time for now after renovating our home.

Working in retail and having some terrible experiences whilst doing so, instilled a passion for shops and also, a distaste for big businesses lack of heart. Abi had to leave employed work after becoming increasingly unwell, but with a desire to keep busy, never fully stopped working on other projects.

Both keen to build a life in which we could be in control and would be able to fulfil our goals (a house big enough to fill with children and animals), we are always discussing ideas for business projects which would benefit our community. We are still working on how we get these plans in front of people who can help us make them a reality!

One day we drove past a charity shop with lots of baby items outside. We discussed how when we have children, we would love to be able to shop for them from charity shops, but it’s such a pain to find a specific item when shopping second hand, especially as Abi is often unable to leave home. “If only there was somewhere online where we could see what each charity shop has for sale.” we said.

This is how we created Esperanza.

Our aim is to unite the high street with online shopping in a way that has never been done before. We know that shopping online is convenient, but we also know that you care about small businesses and ethical shopping, just like us. This is why we are bringing the high street to you.

We hope you love it just as much as we do,

Emma & Abi

Title: About Esperanza

Esperanza is a platform for charity shops, high street shops and small businesses to show off what they have for sale.

Our aim is to create a more ethical and sustainable shopping standard by encouraging customers to shop small and locally. We believe that the right collaboration between our modern online world and traditional high street shopping will bring about the positive change needed to build a better world.

We are not simply a marketplace. Esperanza offers vendors the opportunity to show off their shop in a way which suits them whilst providing a simple and engaging online experience for consumers.

Esperanza’s #highstfromhome relaunch is coming soon!

Title: Get Involved

At Esperanza we believe everyone has a right to be heard. We are here to challenge big business and the status quo.

From building this platform alone, we’ve learned a lot about how difficult it is to feel like somebody is listening. At the centre of what we have created is our love and passion for people like you, and we want you to feel like we made Esperanza especially for you. Because we did!

To build the Esperanza community we need you to help us spread the word, and in return, we want to spread the word about you and the wonderful things you do!

Read our Blogs and share them with your family and friends on your social platforms. We love to talk about small businesses and community projects, so if you know someone or something that deserves some love, email us at hello@esperanzaretail.com
