Esperanza Projects

It is important to us that running a business is not just a tool to make money with no soul. Any business, regardless of size, should find ways to donate to charity, and run in a way which is beneficial to people and planet. We are working hard to make sure we always have these ideals at the centre of everything we do.

The Esperanza Gift Tag Project

The Esperanza Gift Tag Project was created in December 2020. After making our own upcycled gift tags from old cards, we realised this would be a fantastic fundraising project as well as a great way to reuse cards and give them a second life. We begun collecting used Christmas cards from family and friends, and then from our local community, and within a month we had thousands.

We asked the people who donated cards to nominate local charities who they would like to see benefit from our fundraising. From the suggestions we chose 4 Dorset based charities who we felt passionate about. Those charities are The Staffie and Stray Rescue, The Dorset Children’s Foundation, Weldmar Hospicecare and Dorset Mind. (Our project is not affiliated with these charities).

Tree Planting

Tree Planting

It is important to us to find more ways to make our business sustainable, and one concern of ours is the carbon we use when shipping orders as well as the daily running of our business. From January 2022 we will plant a tree for every art print or gift bag purchased using more:trees. We hope this is the start of an even greener 2022.

Emma is wearing an orange jumper and in the forground, is holding an orange leaopard print sheet of fabric.
Preloved Clothing Sales

We donate 20% of the profits of the sale of items from The Esperanza Clothing Store to various charities. The Esperanza Clothing Store supports Esperanza with our costs of running allowing us to bring you everything we do.

We hope we can help you to see all the reasons why shopping second hand is so fantastic. You’ll discover hidden gems and quality items whilst minimising your effects on the environment, and you’ll be giving those items a wonderful second life!
