Think of your Storefront as your shops profile page or dating profile. By adding a cover photo, profile picture and details about your shop, you encourage more customers to browse your listings and visit your store. Here are our handy tips for setting up your Storefront. It’s so simple – you might not even need the guide!

Once your account has been approved, you will be able to login and view your Dashboard. To set up your store, head to the Store Settings button on the left-hand side menu.

  • Select Storefront from the drop-down menu. You’ll now see your storefront.
  • Upload a cover photo and shop logo. Your images must be below 2MB in size.
  • Scroll down to your General Settings, and make sure you are happy with your Store name and Slug. Your slug is the link you can share with customers to show off your shop.
  • Scroll again and you will see your Store Description, this appears at the top of your Storefront so make sure to tell us all about your shop.
  • As you scroll further down, you will notice your shops details. Be sure to include a space in your postcode to ensure it is searchable.
  • Scroll to the bottom of this page to find the place to add your social media links.
  • Once you are happy with your details, select Save Options in the top right of the screen.
Text Reads: Policies

Under your Store Settings drop-down menu, you will notice a Policies tab. Select this to ensure you have included your store policies and contact details and click Save Options in the top right once you have finished.
The store contact details entered here are added to the thank you page of the customer after they’ve placed an order and is also sent to their thank you email for your customers to reach out in case they need help with their order.
We want our vendors to be in control of their store policies, so this is the place to add information about your store such as:

  • Details on shipping such as your charges and which courier you use.
  • Lead time on items.
  • Information on personalised items.
  • How you prefer to be contacted.
  • Returns and cancellations.
  • Any other details your customers should know.

 

Text Reads: Billing

To take payment on Esperanza you’ll need a Stripe account. We have chosen Stripe because of its low usage fee. Create an account here, or follow these steps:

To connect your Stripe account, head to the Store Settings tab on your Vendor Dashboard.

Select Billing from the drop-down menu. Select Stripe Connect from the Choose Payment Method section.

A button will appear which says Connect With Stripe, click the button and you will be directed to Stripes website who will guide you through creating an account or logging in.

Text Reads: Top TIps For a Successful Esperanza Shop
  • When creating your profile, remember to add the space in your postcode to ensure the search function can find your shop.
  • Add your stores policies by going to the Store Settings tab and selecting Policies. Remember to include instructions if you are including a collect function to tell your customer how long it will take for an item to be ready or how you will contact them.
  • Make sure your shipping preferences are updated before selling through Esperanza using the Store Settings tab and selecting Shipping.
  • Connect your Stripe account to Esperanza under Store Settings and selecting Billing.
  • Keep your stock level at zero through Manage Stock in the product tabs if you do not want to sell through Esperanza.

  • To set up shipping, head to the Store Settings button and select Shipping from the drop-down menu.
  • You’ll see United Kingdom under the heading Zone Name. Click on the eye icon to the right. Underneath the table titled Shipping Methods, select the Add Shipping Method button.
  • You’ll notice 3 different shipping choices.
  • Select Flat Rate confirming using the Add Shipping Method button. Once this appears in the table, select the pencil icon to set up your shipping cost.
  • In the box which pops up, you can rename your shipping and type in a cost. Select Save Changes and this shipping option will be set.
  • If you would like to add Free Shipping to an order over a certain value, under your Shipping Zones section, select Add Shipping Method and then Free Shipping from the drop-down choices. Confirm by clicking Add Shipping Method, and then select the pencil icon.
  • You’ll then notice a box appear which allows you to add a value for the minimum order amount for free shipping. Enter your value and select Save Changes.

Text Reads: Advanced Shipping

When you select the pencil icon next to the Flat Rate Shipping Option, you’ll notice some further options with code. These allow for more complex shipping options.

Under the heading Shipping Class Cost in the box titled Cost of Shipping Class you can enter a certain code which instructs more complex options.
Here is a key for the code you’ll need to enter:
[qty] – Number of items in the cart.
[fee] – An additional fee.
Percent – A percentage of the total order cost.
Min fee – Minimum amount.
Max fee – Maximum amount.
To charge a standard shipping rate which adds on an additional (but different to the standard shipping rate) fee per item, you can use this code modified for your own figures, including the spaces:
10 + ( 2 * [qty] ) – A base shipping cost of £10 plus £2 for each item in the cart.
To charge a base shipping cost which increases at a percentage of the order total use this code modified for your own figures, including the spaces:
20 + [fee percent=”10″ min_fee=”5″] – A base shipping cost of £20 plus 10% of the order total, which is at least £5.
Per Class: Shipping rates will apply accordingly class-wise.
Per Order: Shipping rates will apply on the total order cost, and the most expensive shipping class rate will apply.
